🌟 Financial Literacy Projects: Real Impact, Real Change
Financial literacy isn’t just about numbers — it’s about creating opportunity. At Equity in Action LLC, we design projects that connect math, money, and community healing to empower schools, families, nonprofits, and small businesses.

Dr. Kristopher J Childs, Math Consultant
Ishmael is a passionate Mathematics educator who leverages financial literacy to engage students and equip them with real-life skills that extend beyond the classroom. His professional learning workshops are intentional, practical, and engaging each one is a powerful call to action. I highly recommend partnering with him to support your educational goals.
Emma Connolly, Parent
Mr. Robinson was my daughter's math tutor during the '24/'25 school year. He tutored her in an advanced math class at Central High School. Although my daughter is a high achiever and generally considered "good" at math, she struggled to grasp some concepts in her math class. Mr. Robinson not only helped her understand the math concepts she needed help with, but also gave her a deeper understanding of math in general and gave her the tools to think through math concepts in a way that that was beneficial in her future math education. My daughter's confidence grew and she became more willing to ask questions in class that would not only benefit her, but also her classmates.
I would recommend Mr. Robinson not only for your child's immediate math needs but also to give them a solid foundation and understanding of math that will help them independently think through math in their future education.
AJ Erickson, Student
“I don’t think I would be the complete person I am today without my time spent being coached by Mr. Robinson. He not only pushed myself but all the kids on my team to be better versions of themselves as a person, student and athlete when I was coached by him in 7th and 8th grade. Outside of coaching and into my high school sports he would host open gyms to all players and interested youth who wanted to play ball, strength friendships, test their skills or even grow at their own pace.He made sure the environment was a welcoming place for all and could express themselves openly but would not tolerate negative behavior, comments or actions to one another as players or to any adults. Teaching how to show respect to ourselves, each other along with our elders. He also showed us it’s okay to be frustrated or angry at times but it’s what we do to show compassion, forgiveness and understanding to one another that brings people together. His impact as a coach held strong to me, that lots of values and lessons I learned carried over to the messaging I gave to my own team of players when I was a head baseball coach. When working with Mr. Robinson, you will get noting but his best. He is very enthusiastic and energetic about what he does while showing true passion for his work.”
Mike Weimerskirch, Professor
I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Robinson, first consulting on curriculum design issues and later as a member of my staff in an innovative precalculus course at the University of Minnesota. In those interactions, I learned a lot about the importance of building community in the classroom and the positive effect it has on all students. We share the same vision that financial literacy is the gateway to success for many of our students and a path forward for producing an equitable society.
